How It Works
Encryption you can verify
ChineseChat uses a double-ratchet algorithm — the same protocol used by Signal — to provide forward secrecy. Even if a session key is ever compromised, past messages remain protected.
Keys generated on your device
When you install ChineseChat, a unique pair of cryptographic keys is generated locally. Your private key never leaves your machine.
Messages encrypted before sending
Your message is encrypted using AES-256 with the recipient's public key before it is transmitted across the network.
Only the recipient can decrypt
The ciphertext travels through our servers but cannot be read by anyone — including us. Only the recipient's private key can open it.
Delivered and discarded
Once a message is delivered, it is removed from our infrastructure. Nothing is retained. There is nothing to subpoena.
